So, imagine the cheesy grin that spread across my face when I discover that, not only do I have a Spam folder, but inside it, is a nomination for Sunshine Blogger Award from the lovely ‘Stay Alive, Reasons2stay’! Flippin’ chuffed! And the best part is, it’s all about the blogging community nominating their peers and promoting the work that they most appreciate, which is cracking. So thank you very much, genuinely! Please click on this link and check out the Reasons2stay blog, because it really is well worth a visit: https://reasons2stay.home.blog/
Chances are, I’ve not done this right, but hey! Let’s see how we go. Apparently the rules are thus:
1. Thank the blogger and provide a link to their blog
2. Put the award logo (I copied and pasted, hopefully does the job!)
3. Answer the questions
4. Nominate other bloggers.
These are the questions that I was asked… enjoy!
1.Upload a picture of yourself (One consider is your most favourite)
2. What do you think about my blog? (Reasons2Stay)
What I appreciate about the Reasons2Stay blog, is that it’s so open, raw and honestly written. I’m not one for mincing my words and find that I appreciate this in the writing of others. I also like the mix of writing styles; some posts are more essay structured, whereas others are short and more anecdotal. All are effective and pleasing to me as a reader. Plus they inspire me to keep going!
3. Why did you start blogging?
I’m not entirely sure how I fell into this… I’ve kept a diary since I was 12 and although it makes me cringe to high heaven reading them back, I love the outlet it gives me. I read Thich Nhat Hanh’s book and decided that, since I love a project and keeping a video diary sounded like fun, I’d give it a go! I’ve always enjoyed English literature and language and so writing has always made sense to me. I never realised how therapeutic a community such as this could be and have been truly astounded at the feedback I’ve been given in the short time that I’ve been on the scene!
4. If you were to recommend me shows/ books/ movies which one would they be?
Shows- It really depends what you mean by show! I’ve seen the Lion King twice in the theatre now and it’s fantastic! Phantom of the Opera is also amazing on stage. I once saw a show called Market Boy in London and it was soo good. Micky Flanagan is hilarious on stage, if you’re into Comedy.
If we’re talking Netflix… well! I’m a bit of a binge watcher (always after new suggestions, by the way!) What Happened to Monday is pretty good! I’ve binge watched The Good Life, Grace and Frankie, the new Sabrina, American Sniper and American Horror Story! All cracking.
On TV (I can probably only speak for the UK) Line of Duty is fucking awesome! We’re catching up on Luther and I like watching the Bake Off (long live Mary Berry!) and the Great British Menu.
Books- I’ll have to limit it to 5, or we’ll be here all day! I have a varied taste in literature, but adore the classics. To Kill a Mockingbird- Harper Lee, was life changing. Transforming Suffering into Peace, Joy and Liberation’ by Thich Nhat Hanh, How to kill your Husband- Kathy Lette, The Anxiety Journal- Corinne Sweet, The Alchemist- Paulo Coelho.
Movies- Oooooo tricky. Top 5, I’d say: Gladiator (makes me cry every time!), PS I love you, The Notebook, Step Brothers, The Green Mile and The Blind Side
5. Describe Yourself in 3 words:
Diligent, Stubborn, Compassionate
6. The one thing you wish to change in this world and why.
Our ignorance towards global warming and our refusal to do anything about it. We’re being told time and time again, this is happening and we need to act now, ALL OF US, before it’s too late. And yet, the politicians, governments and huge corporate enterprises refuse to lead by example, by creating legislation and ways of working to address the protection of our natural world. We are so blind and yet, WE are the biggest threat to the survival of our planet.
7. Who is the best blogger for you?
I really enjoy the Mental Health at Home blog: https://mentalhealthathome.org/
It’s well written, very honest and very informative, about a range of topics. I really appreciate how much support and advice the blog offers it’s readers, myself included. It really reinforces that we’re not alone in our struggles.
If you were reincarnated, who would you want to be and why?
David Attenborough! Just so I could feel what it’s like to be that intelligent, to have experienced the world over the past 80 odd years and have seen so many amazing natural wonders, some of which might well no longer be here. The man’s a national treasure!
Well, thanks for reading my spiel. These are the questions I would like my nominees to answer:
1. Please post your favourite picture of yourself
2. Please tell me what you think about my blog (Choose Transformation)
3. Which song best represents how you’re feeling right now?
4. What makes your blog different from others?
5. Which blog is currently your favourite?
6. Which has been the best day of your life so far?
7. Which animal would you say you are most alike and why?
8. If you could give me any piece of advice for living with Anxiety and Depression, what would it be?
I look forward to reading your responses 🙂 Here are my nominations:
